My given name at Birth is Julia Marie Ward and I was born and raised in Louisiana. Now, after (finally) meeting my life (Spades) partner, I am Julia Marie Ortloff, but my friends call me "Cort". I now reside in Helena, Montana, with my husband and children, whom I will introduce shortly.
I think it goes without saying, I have a passion for writing. I am the author of the Southern Fiction Trilogy, Fed and the China Doll, have written thousands of song lyrics, so many poems I can't recall them all, and have several books in progress (in my spare time).  I will never say 'I'm good at writing, but  I do love it and there is only a  few things I love more.
The few things are: First- My Heavenly Father, because I would have no knack for writing had He not seen fit to bless me with the love for it. In all written works, I only hope my faith shines through and God receives the glory for it. Next is my family: My husband, Carl, our 5 children, (JoEtt, Zach, Elli, Tori and Anthony), our 5 grand children (Makenzie, Hevin, Darion, Damen and Sophia), my parents (Sherwood & Ethel Ward), and all the people I have been blessed to have share a smile, a word, a prayer, and yeah-even an insult with me. Without their presence in my life, be it for the good or bad, I would have missed out on the "blessin of a lesson".
I am the proud 'momma' to a big (I mean B-I-G) Rott dog (Thor) and a little, white Ch-Rauna with a B-I-G attitude (Bru). These two guys keep Carl & me on our toes 24/7.
I'm a senior at MSU-Billings, scheduled (hopefully) to graduate May, 2013 with a BSLS in Organizational Communication. If you can't tell from the read, I'll just go ahead and 'rat' on myself. I am a gabber! I love people and love to get to know them; to become friends and family with them. I never, ever want to be quiet (I snore and talk in my sleep just to keep the conversation going-lol) or alone.
I love to live, laugh, love and be loved. That is what really completes life. To add a little bounce to the journey, I listen to music (country, blue grass and gospel) occasionally play Wii with the grand kids, hang out with my precious little Mother (in-law) and always, Always have a cup of Joe to Go. Yeah- Go figure, I'm a coffee-holic writer ;).
Finally, the highlight of  who I am. The romantic side of my life. On April 19,1999, at L.S.U. Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana-I underwent brain surgery (YeaH-they found it!). It was shortly after that, as Zach and JoEtt worked to teach me to speak, read, count and write again that I met a gentle4man (online) playing the card game Spades. He became my spades partner for the next four years and became involved in assisting me to overcome the difficulties the surgery had left me to deal with.
On March 9, 2004-I-with my 3 children and, at that time 2, grandchildren hopped on the old Greyhound Bus and headed to Montana, to meet Casual, now known as my best friend, my 'partner' for life, my team member, my Husband...My Blessing Carl Ortloff)! We were married June 4, 2004 and because we 'met' online, thought it only fitting to have an online wedding so as to share the moment with our countless number of online family of friends.
Rarely do we hear of the "Online Happily Ever After" love story, but I was blessed with the chance to do more than just tell the story. I get to LIVE it and what a story it is! Eat your heart out Roseann lol.
And that, my dear friends, is who I am, just a Transplanted Cajun-Montana explorer, in love with the expedition of life and all its wonder.
Make yourself at home.Kick back, grab a cup of joe, check out the place and  let me know what you think of it. I'm new at this, so I need all the help I can get!
I hope We'll be chatting soon. Ya'll come back, now. Ya' Hear?
